The Town of Queen Creek Parks and Recreation Department is seeking participants for the third annual Family Fun Run and the highly competitive annual Salsa Challenge. The deadline for registration for both events has been extended to Thursday, Mar. 19. As part of the Town’s Spring Family Celebration, the activities will take place on Saturday, April 4 at Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road. The Family Fun Run is a family-focused activity aimed at promoting physical activity. The exciting, two-mile course leads around Desert Mountain Park and Desert Mountain Elementary School. The fee varies based on the age of participants. Registrations received by Mar. 19 will receive a runner t-shirt with their paid registration. On-site registrations will be accepted the day of the run at an increased rate. The Salsa Challenge gives individuals an opportunity to show off their “famous” salsa recipes and compete for the title of “Queen Creek’s Best Salsa.” Entries will be judged in three categories; hot, mild and most unusual. The fee is $25 per entry. Registrations received by Mar. 19 will receive a Salsa Challenge apron with their paid registration. On-site registrations will not be accepted.
